Registered Physiotherapist

Kendra is a 2002 graduate of McMaster University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy . Kendra also completed degrees at the University of Toronto in Master of Science, Department of Medical Biophysics in Cancer Research (2000) and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo (1996). Kendra has also been involved in teaching, mentoring and examining physiotherapy students for a number of years through the McMaster University Physiotherapy program.

Kendra has a strong interest in manual therapy and successfully completed her Intermediate and Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy degree through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Orthopedic Division with certification in Spinal Manipulation in 2009. As well, Kendra has certification in acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation. She completed her acupuncture training through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI) and is certified in Gunn IMS.

Additionally, Kendra has completed coursework in introductory and advanced vestibular rehabilitation, management of post-concussion symptoms, muscle imbalance syndromes, mobilization and sensitization of the nervous system, assessment and treatment of shoulder dysfunctions, and Kinesio-tape. Kendra believes in a client centred approach and enjoys treating a variety of conditions and injuries using manual therapy techniques, dry needling (when appropriate), client education and exercise prescription.

More recently, Kendra has developed an interest in women’s health including pelvic floor dysfunctions, pregnancy and postpartum conditions and how they affect the pelvis, hip and low back. Kendra has recently completed courses in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Level 1-2 through Pelvic Health Solutions. She is certified as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and can provide treatment for a variety of pelvic health conditions including Diastasis Rectus Abdominis, pelvic pain and bowel and bladder dysfunction including incontinence. Kendra plans to further her training in this area in the near future.
